We invite you to join in the celebration of the Erie Canal's 185th anniversary and welcoming the 2010 World Canals Conference being held in Rochester, NY September 19-24, 2010.

The "Flotilla" is actually two related activities. In the weeks leading up to the conference, vessels from across the NYS Canal System will travel to the Rochester area to celebrate the 2010 WCC. It includes New York State Canal Corporation historic and working fleet vessels, historic tugboats, steamboats, canal boats and a wide variety of recreational pleasure craft.

Kick Off Rochester, NY—July 22, 2010:

Local, State, Federal, private and non-profit officials gathered today at simultaneous ceremonies in eight locations along the Erie Canal to raise the 2010 World Canals Conference flag. The ceremonies signified the start of registration for private boaters and tour boats to join the 2010 World Canals Conference Flotilla. The Flotilla is the centerpiece of daylong festivities being held September 19th to officially open the 2010 Conference.
