Call For Papers
The World Canals Conference planning committee invites submittal of abstracts for papers to be presented at Rochester, New York, USA, September 20 to 23, 2010.
The overall theme of this year’s conference is: Canals in the Community Setting,
New York State, and Worldwide: Challenges and Opportunities.
The conference will combine plenary and break-out sessions focusing on four principal topics as they relate to canals, inland waterways, and the communities through which they run:
• Economic Development and Community Revitalization
• Education and Interpretation
• Marketing and Tourism
• Engineering, Management, Transport, and Sustainability: Challenges and Opportunities
Presentations shall last no more than 25 minutes, including questions. Digital projection equipment will be available. The conference language is English. Authors should submit their paper’s title, an abstract of no more than 500 words, and the principal author’s name, title, affiliation and a brief biography to: papers@wccrochester.org
The World Canals Conference Planning Committee requests submittals of Abstracts For Papers from any individual with a general interest or specialty in canals and inland waterways and/or their landside use, development, and economic revitalization not to exceed 500 words.
